February 10, 2026 – Spirit Airlines is providing all members a fast track to higher status. Following the annual status evaluations, Spirit has launched a new Status Upgrade initiative, allowing Free Spirit® members to reclaim or elevate their elite status through December 31, 2026.
Designed to provide flexibility for travelers who may have fallen short of qualification, the program offers a direct path to Silver and Gold benefits, ensuring members don’t miss out on perks like free bags, seat selections, and accelerated points earning.
The Status Upgrade program is specifically tailored to those recently impacted by annual downgrades. Whether a member is looking to “buy back” a previous tier or an existing Silver member is looking to “buy up” to Gold, the program offers a streamlined solution. Plus, all members are eligible to upgrade to Silver – regardless of previous status.
- Base to Silver: Available to all members for $79.
- Silver to Gold (Previous Gold Holders): Eligible members can reclaim Gold for $199.
- Silver to Gold (New Upgrades): Eligible Silver members can elevate to Gold for $399.
Once purchased, the upgraded status is valid through December 31, 2026. Members will see their new tier reflected in their accounts quickly, unlocking a full suite of benefits for the remainder of this year and the entirety of the next.
